I can only wonder why Greg....cold night?

Nah. That was the night before. The lens had a sheet of ice over it then. But it was too B. cold to photograph it (My hands were too numb)

Perhaps it had something to do with painting the end of your lens black.

But but but. The guy who sold it to me said it was special focus correcting paint. Now where did I put that receipt?

I finally got outside with my new toy last night and promptly discovered I have quite a learning curve in front of me. So nothing to share yet.
So back to plan B for POTD:
Pam was given some of her favourite Jelly Babies yesterday & I had thoughts of setting them up for a tumble. When I noticed the marble on the side board my ideas coalesced.
The original idea was for a group of 10 in pyramid formation with the ball bearing down on them, but the babies refused to stand in a group, so I switched to mid strike with the few cooperative ones awaiting their fate.
 PS No JBs were harmed in making this shot. I wasn't allowed.

It works surprisingly well. Perhaps an extra exposure or two for focus bracketing to get the front ones in focus.

Its been a while. I've been busy.

My daughter wanted some photos taken of her rooms, but didn't give me advance notice, so while I had my camera with me, I had no tripod or flash. Then I remembered Murray's technique for HDRs
I leaned against a door post for stability, set the camera to -3EV and 9/1.0EV brackets ( that gave me 7 under one, 1 over and 1 nailed according to the exposure meter) and blazed away. I have to say the results exceeded my expectations. I should perhaps have used the other doorpost to remove the edge of the wardrobe, but apart from that...

D800 14-24f/2.8 @14mm f/8 ISO & Shutter variable.

He is looking very good for his years. I work in aged care and I know of some people that look older but are much, much younger. What is his secret to longevity?

I think you may find that Greg's mathematics is correct. The 25 days above 36,500 account for the leap years (assuming the photo was taken on his birthday).

I delegated that to my daughter, but she piked & made snowballs instead. I wasn't game to take my camera out to record them
