Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

Thanks to GeoffM for accepting the pleasure of being the DSLRUsers POTW guest Selector. Geoff M wrote:There are many images which have been posted in the proceeding week worthy of the POTW status but the standout for me is an image from Trevor (the foto fanatic) titled 'Old Junk'. Well done Trevor.
Nice choice Geoff The full thread can be found here: http://www.dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=43028

Thanks Geoff and thanks to all who have commented. It's always a thrill to receive a PotW gong!
Sometimes when you take a photograph you know immediately that it is a great image. This was NOT the case here! I took a series of shots of the boat as she manouvred for mooring. When I looked at them later, most were very bland. But for some reason this image had those almost luminescent sails - they must have been perfectly positioned for the light. As a bonus, the photograph is as sharp as a tack while some of the others in the series were not.
Cheers

Well done Trevor but why was it cropped? The original is so much better

Wel done! I would have chosen this one also if it were my turn to choose. A graceful image.
Regards
