Looks like we have had another set of releases. I am liking the spec and pricing on this 70-200mm F/4 VR!!

the 70-200/4 is most interesting and the price is about right. not cheap, but its a comparable price. now this lens has to perform.
not sure what the filter size is, 72 you reckon ?

I have a J1 and it has displaced my Samsung EX1 (premium compact) and it will always challenge my EP3 for the role of an EDC (Every Day Carry). The Nikon 1 system is small and incredibly fast, IQ is not brilliant in low light but legions ahead of a compact camera. I cannot stand the NEX cameras control scheme, the cost of the Fuji System (up until its recent price cut) was too expensive to overlook all the niggles that I had with the control, build and viewfinder (the EVF looks the worse of all available, and the hybrid finder can be a bit intrusive in dim light). I didn't pay for my J1 but after owning one I could not say I do not enjoy using one.

Interesting. Thanks.
Do you reckon they could have made the v2 any uglier ? Cos I'm not sure they could have personally. It's hideous.

:agree: it is not the easiest on the eyes...but in recent weeks we also saw the abomination that is known as the "Hasselblad Luna" as well.....maybe someone has to reevaluate the credentials of the designers. The V2 reminds me of a NEX-5N + EVF....

The Nikon 70-200 should sell well, in the same vein as Canon's 70-200 F4 IS, which by all accounts is a stellar, razor sharp lens. (I must say I have owned 5-6 copies of the other 3 Canon varieties over the years, but no the F4IS, and they are all spectacular.)

To me, if I had to choose just one lens, the 70-200 would be it.
