Best sunset spot - Blue Mountains? After the Mt Tomah Macro meet next Saturday some friends and I are stying overnight at Katoomba and plan to take some sunset pics in the area. I'm hoping some of you locals can suggest the best spot (preferably with some samples ) - doesn't have to be Katoomba as we have a car.
Thanks in advance. Peter

Re: Best sunset spot - Blue Mountains?Do you want to look east or west or...?
Greg
It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Best sunset spot - Blue Mountains?
Greg - that's making it harder. East if we're seeing interesting stuff (eg the 3 sisters lit nicely, although I think they're in shadow too soon) or west if there's interetsing rocks in the orange light. Bottom line is I don't want some nice valley as a pitch black foreground with the setting sun behind it. I'm thinking looking east better meets that brief, but could be wrong. Peter

Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul
Re: Best sunset spot - Blue Mountains?
Steffen - Thanks. I'd already checked TPE which is showing three sisters is promising, but it's a bit hackneyed. Sunet rock looked promising near Wentworth falls as well, but I'm hoping for some sceret spot that's even better and known only to locals Peter

Re: Best sunset spot - Blue Mountains? We did find some good places for sunset and sunrise. If only we turned stubbsy gps on more often j/k
We did Echo Point and Cahil's Look out. Both offering different views. Sadly we lingered at Echo point 2-4minutes too long so missed Cahil's at it's best. And for Sunrise we did Hanging Rock (not for the faint hearted - or those that can't get out of bed at 4am).
