Long Gully Bridge & Crows Nest to Chatswood vista

A couple from yesterday. Had a good chat with a guy who saw my camera, turned around and came back. Discussed, for about 20 minutes photography, large format, etc. whilst his wife suffered in the car.

These were hastily scanned this morning with only slight contrast adjustments.

The photo of Long Gully Bridge at Northbride needs more contrast.

I am happy with the exposures I am getting via the Zone System. Whilst I had the D800 with me, I only used my Pentax Spot meter to work out exposure.

This, the first, is my fav but comes across too bright when you bump the contrast maybe try and see how it looks darkened down a bit?

Indeedy - it looked less bright on my screen at home.

This is a simple reduction in exposure in ACR. I think it does the trick.

The rework on the bridge (my pick of these as well) does it proper justice. What really makes this image for me is you've nailed the composition perfectly with the slight elevation you were at when taking the shot. Strangely the blurry cars (doing more than 50K I'm guessing ) don't detract from the image which they no doubt would in colour. In fact I almost didn't notice them.

Chris, do you mean the left hand side?

Wayne, loving the set-up - knowing that I go out and I can only take up to 14 photos is somewhat liberating. Using the Zone system also gives me greater control of the process. That said, I have been fortunate that the scenes I have photographed have contained dynamic ranges within the scope of the film, and haven't had to pull or push development.
