Mozzie Brigade - Clovelly classics

Clovelly is a location that I have been to probably about 5 times, its a easy spot to get to and probably closet coastal location for me, however out of those 5 times only once have I gotten clouds, twice fog, twice nothing but hazy love and once (oh that makes it 6) where we could not get to the rocks cause the swell was epic..

Sunday was not any different ..hazy, but there was some nice colour in the predawn bit.

great see Rodney out with his new gear (no dunking which was a relief) and to meet Martin and family.

Keen for a some thoughts about the following, particularly the first, the rest are ho-hum..

To tell you the truth, Gerry, you have spoilt us with absolutely amazing sunrise seascapes that these, unfortunately, don't really compare to your normal brilliance. The lack of cloud action reduces the interest these hold.

1st is growing on me. Have you tried turning it up side down for an abstract effect? The black border is distracting; perhaps white.

#4 is a nice compo with the waves leading in. I think perhaps another element, such as some green stuff or birds or ship or something may elevate it.

Hi Gerry - I don't mind #1 - it's simple and understated - was this one of the ones from on top of the rock?

I like the colours and tones in #2 but theres too much purple and funky blue going on in the bottom

yeah lack of clouds really blows - however I always see that as a challenge to still try and achieve something worthwhile, this is what i think makes a good photographer.

I have to agree however and say these are not my favourites and there is plenty to improve on, i made the age old error of blowing out the red channel in all my nice shots which really irritated me post event

never thought of the option whacking it upside down, it does howver give the brain a bit of a workout when lookign at it upside down

yeah that was from up on the rock, really did not nail the water movement i wanted form there but hey...next time

I like #1 because of the line of the canyon but feel the water is slightly too misty as I keep looking for some water flow.

I like the pano crop you have done in the last post but you need to take a smidg off the right hand side to remove the black spot on the bottom right corner.
