Finally..The newbie shots of clovelly sunrise

Sorry it took so long to post the photos, my computer suffered a carbon unit malfunction.......me being the carbon unit

The shots are almost straight from the camera with only slight adjustments for fill light, saturation and a slight crop.

Thanks to Gerry and Rodney for making the morning enjoyable, and to the rest of the forum members Karena and I met at the BBQ.

I look forward to reading your critiques so I can learn and get better at taking pictures.....already better at using this computer thingy!!

The shots are almost straight from the camera with only slight adjustments for fill light, saturation and a slight crop.

I think in this case the addition of saturation was probably not needed (e.g. in the first it's making the water at the bottom too urky blue/purple when it probably should be more white), a slight tint/temp adjustment might help too. (fyi with mine I took away a tiny bit of saturation and added some vibrance). What these probably need is some contrast (and probably even selective local contrast (clarity if you're using lightroom)) - it was a very hazy/sea spray filled morning tho so we're going to have that problem anyway - I had the same with mine. This may also help some with the general feeling of slight unsharpness I'm getting (sharpening may also help? ) but it could also be one of many other things (including tripod stability, where you focused, etc)

Of these I reckon the composition and content of the second image shows the most promise

Thanks Rodney. Great comments and advice. I intend to go back into the image and look at it using selective contrast and tint/temp adjustments to fix the water colour. Never thought about reducing saturation and adding vibrance before, so i'm going to go back in the the image and see what I can do with these tips as well.
I would like to say the lack of sharpness was caused by my tripod but in all honesty it was probably due to my focus. (just another way to improve)
