Drum roll pleeeeeeze. Today I am picking as winner of the PotW, a shot that when I first viewed it I immediately thought that someone was using Bryce to trick us all. But, it was a photo and in the best tradition of Bryce it made the person think twice as to whether or not it was real. I love this photo because it made me think and the more I looked into it the more I loved it. And, to make it even more worthy it took a landscape into the world of portrait format, and it worked. Great choice of a great shot.
One thing that strikes me about this shot is the ... perspective .... for want of a better term.
In the centre left of this image we have the big rock, with the wash of water flowing over it. And then in the foreground we have the large expanse of wash. From this, I get a strong feeling of movement, almost as if I am falling into the image. Does anyone else see/feel this?

I agree with you Gary. The other point that made me think was the 2/3rds from the bottom up. If you ignore the sky and sea it is almost as if you are peering into some massive canyon with waterfalls all around.

Indeed. It's almost a sensation of somehow falling into this image. Martin, Crop this square, perhaps completely removing the expanse of water in the top section of the image. The more you look at this image, the more remarkable it becomes. g.

G,Day Guys.
I have only just logged in and posted some shots from the weekend for review. I decided to look at the POTW for some future inspiration.
I was not expecting to find my picture was chosen.
I am humbled to say the least as there were some beautiful shots taken by both Gerry and Rodney at the same location and other forum members through the week.
Shocked, excited and amazed are all I can Say....Thank You!
Ps I will look into the square crop and see what it looks like, Thanks.
