Tough job but someone has to do it.I don't know what is going on here...new recruits being inducted, or a xmas ride. But it sure looks like fun, and who can deny that the cops deserve to blow a little steam now and then.
Nikon D300 and 80-200mm lens Regards

Sony's Christmas party was held in Double Pay on Wednesday of last week. I was there. g.

That may have been another department's Xmas party. I know for certain that a few of my contacts within Sony were at a Sony Xmas party today. Cameron

Re: Tough job but someone has to do it.Nice matt, not much to improve on there, great timing (and i love how you can see almost all of the hull) and composition.
I reckon I might take a ride in this bad boy over a ride in the Polair chopper gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: Tough job but someone has to do it.Hi Gerry
I had a ride in Polair a few years ago to do some aerial photography. What amused me was that the boys were wearing vests, side arms and all of that other paraphenalia that they wear when on the beat. Bloody regulations no doubt....but looked very uncomfortable.Couldn't quite work out the logic in that....maybe they might have to land, perhaps, when chasing the bad guys....and need to be ready just in case. I was really impressed with the radio scanner in the centre console. very nice. A very sophisticated machine overall and a great aid for the guys on the ground. Oh...and that bloody powerful spotlight. Turns night into day. Regards

They have to be able to land and get out the chopper and do Police duties. I've had them back up me on jobs where things turned nasty and shots were fired after they dropped us into a drug crop... They came back and the crewie jumped out to assist us... Great fun!!!!!! 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

screw the radio scanner, the view thru the FLIR (or even the normal cam) is da shit - there's a reason why they often zip by the beaches on hot days the spotlight - or commonly referred to as a nitesun is a serious torch - 30 million candlepower. I like this bit in the manual "avoid operation of the searchlight below 10 feet AGL (above ground level) as it can ignite dry vegetation at focal point" gerry's photography journey
