Back with a vengeanceHello everyone,
Opposed to popular belief I am not dead.... Been very busy the last few months but now am back with the scheme of things and BOUGHT a 40D. After having my 400D for 7 years I believe I have mastered it in every way possible. During my NZ trip I used my Mother's 5D and was converted to the bigger solid feel of the pro bodies. Once back in Oz I decided I could afford a 40D or preferably a 50D... Watched few on eBay and threw a $285 bid on a clean 40D with 16000 clicks. Thought not bad value as for that I can keep my 400D as a backup. So far haven't take the 40D out as awaiting a battery grip this week but will make sure to get a few shots soon. Here's just a couple over the last few weeks... Don't worry my partner @ Pukaki/Mt Cook one is only a happy snap... I took close to 200 pics of Mount Cook from there, got so low to the lake mum's 5D alittle damp on the strap lol All but that pic was taken with 400D and 50mm 1.8 Canon EOS 40D

Re: Back with a vengeanceWelcome back!
Great to see that you are well and truly still around. I am sure you will love the 40D, in my opinion the pinnacle of the XXD line up. Cameron

Re: Back with a vengeanceThe 50mm f/1.8 is a lovely lense and I like your pictures.
Re: Back with a vengeanceI love the delicate tones and the beautiful technical quality of the first image. It is a sensual image and has been nicely crafted.

Re: Back with a vengeance
hi, i must missed that popular belief boat great to see you back and contributing.
Its always exciting to get new gear but remember not to let your photography lapse just 'cause your gear is getting old I quite like the first and last images - the first is a great memento of your trip to kiwi land and the person you went with, nice one. The lozard is cool too. gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
