Catch at Urangan PierWhile promenading the length of Urangan Pier at Hervey Bay, I observed
this youngster catching a sting ray and other small fishes and putting them in a mesh basket at the back of his rusty bike...

Re: Catch at Urangan PierPerhaps it's as a bait? Or perhaps signs of hard times.
Zafra, if you hadn't told us, it's pretty hard to make out what's in the basket.
Re: Catch at Urangan PierI think you are right and that catch may be used
at a later stage as bait. Suren, I realised it is difficult to make out the content of the basket and that is why I had to explain. Thank you both for your comments.
Re: Catch at Urangan PierI had stingray whilst in SIngapore....very nice to eat, firm white flesh with virtually no tricky bones! Works very well grilled with a chilli based sauce!

Re: Catch at Urangan PierInteresting! Possibly I had it too without knowing.
Catch at Urangan PierI have been told that all rays are now protected in Qld. Not 100% sure how true this is, and a quick Google search reveals nothing.
