Re: pics from a day outNo 4 and the horizon is level too well done but there is something at the top right side. I like how you added space and the BW suits it.
I don't mind 1 but in my mind it's blends into the background a bit to much but it's a interesting tree, for that is why I like it.
Re: pics from a day outHi Matt - I love #1 (love tree's like that) and I like how it eventually merges at the fringy edges - very nice
Interesting perspective in #3 - almost has a soft focus feel to it as well - I get a nice feeling from this D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks

Re: pics from a day outI like all of these, with a particular preference to #1 - Fine Art.

Re: pics from a day out1, 3, 4 & 2 are great!
Re: pics from a day out
Does that leave any??? Matt... #1: it's a little hard to be sure at this size but I'm wondering if a touch more contrast might add value to really make the tree glow (again at full size it might over do things so I could well be wrong). All but #3 are winners in my view... not that #3 is bad... just doesn't grab my attention. Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?
Re: pics from a day outI quite like #3. It keeps my attention. Maybe its the look on the second dog being out of place.
last I like but for a boat prefer more fill and dramatic angle Canon EOS 40D
Canon EOS 400D 50mm 1.8 EF
