Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Re: Finding My Religionim not a fan. i don't like that it looks staged. i would have liked more atmosphere and it looking like there was a genuine search as opposed to a setup photograph.
maybe sitting on a table next to a lamp for light, a glass of wine next to it, a book open...anything to break it up into something less sterile. oh...and i'll take #3 thanks. EM1 l 7.5 l 12-40 l 14 l 17 l 25 l 45 l 60 l 75 l AW1 l V3
Re: Finding My ReligionNicely crafted and yes... staged image... doubt your trying to present it as anything but that in this instance as is the case with many product style shots.
Photography is not a crime, but perhaps my abuse of artistic license is?
Finding My ReligionActually this image was not staged. The book and two notepads were just placed on a sideboard in our hallway by my wife. I have walked past them everyday for the past couple of months and on this particular day the light falling on them through an adjacent window just grabbed my attention so I went to get the camera and shot off a couple of frames.
No thought went into the included elements or positioning, just shot as I saw it. Fuji X-Pro1 | X-E1 | X-T1 | XF14 | XF23 | XF27 | XF35 | XF56 | XF60 | XF10-24 | XF18-55 | XF55-200 | MCEX-11
