DXOMark has released a list of top lenses for your camera, as with always take with a grain of salt, but it is an interesting guide with some unexpected performers.....

Thanks, Cameron.

There's a couple of surprises in there, but my long held belief is that the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 is the best glass that Nikon make. This article seems to confirm this.

Interesting - I assume the results would be similar with my D600 - looks like my Sigma 50/1.4 does well, as do both my Nikon 85/1.8G and Sigma 85/1.4 (with the 1.8G winning and equaling the Nikon 85/1.4G)

The 85mm f1.4G is certainly an excellent lens, for portraiture or landscape. However, I'll be interested to see what they find for the 300mm f2.8, and the 24mm f3.5 PC-E. Also, they only tested the 105mm macros and not the 105mm DC f2 (perhaps the 135mm DC f2 is yet to come). Mind you, with just a single point score, they are unlikely to do the 24mm PC-E justice as its resolution characteristics are not what one might expect, even without tilt and shift.
