Re: Nikon D800 owners...DXO mark has released a list of topThanks, Cameron.
There's a couple of surprises in there, but my long held belief is that the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 is the best glass that Nikon make. This article seems to confirm this. g.

Re: Nikon D800 owners...DXO mark has released a list of topInteresting - I assume the results would be similar with my D600 - looks like my Sigma 50/1.4 does well, as do both my Nikon 85/1.8G and Sigma 85/1.4 (with the 1.8G winning and equaling the Nikon 85/1.4G)

Re: Nikon D800 owners...DXO mark has released a list of top
The 85mm f1.4G is certainly an excellent lens, for portraiture or landscape. However, I'll be interested to see what they find for the 300mm f2.8, and the 24mm f3.5 PC-E. Also, they only tested the 105mm macros and not the 105mm DC f2 (perhaps the 135mm DC f2 is yet to come). Mind you, with just a single point score, they are unlikely to do the 24mm PC-E justice as its resolution characteristics are not what one might expect, even without tilt and shift.
