Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

Over the years I have seen many photographs on this forum that have been outstanding, not only in their content but in the expertise of the photographer. This week I have the honour of presenting POTW to an outstanding photo and photographer - Nikon boy. This photo is an example of what we all strive for - that moment in time when our finger fires the shutter and we have a memorable photo in the can. A hearty congratulations Nikon boy

It's been said, but this is one of the great photos. Right time and right place with the necessary skills. Well done Norman, on POTW. If we had a POTY (do we have one?), this is the Black Caviar of entries.
Ozi.

Thank You all very much for the kind words and POTW !!!!
I do remember saying to myself ''concentrate, hold steady, and double/triple checking my settings through the viewfinder then anticipating and letting the D3s shutter fire away i am prone to jumping involuntarily at loud bangs and when the explosions went off i did jump but luckily steadied in time
I remember looking at the viewfinder without my glasses on thinking ''gee that might be a reasonable set''......''If they are in focus''
Ya know what I RECKON I WAS JUST LUCKY !!!!!!
Cheers
Norm

"Luck is when preparation meets opportunity". (Jack Gibson circa 1985?) You were prepared and grabbed the opportunity. Again, well done.
