Long Weekend Beach pics.
Hi Everyone!
I've recovered from my cold and went away for the long weekend with the D70 in tow. Here are some pics of my beautiful Daughter at the beach. I have to get Photoshop though! They looked really sharp and crisp as NEF files, but once converted to JPeg, they look average. They were taken with the 70-300 G at f8.  _
Any suggestions on how to keep the original sharpness?
hi Stormygirl - some lovely images there indeed but as you say a tad on the soft side now, which can be a direct result of the 70-300G ( I personally really like this lens tho and haven't had many issues with softness)..how did you convert from RAW to JPEG, i.e what program did you use? Don't be too harsh on yourself, they are beautiful captures of your daughter at play, and they will be a great memory for you in years to come. I agree - Photoshop would beautify these images even more. Keep shooting and keep posting

Hi Geoff.
After I had played around with the images in Picture Project, I selected the ones I wanted to put up on the web and transfered them to JPEG and into a temp file! I'm not sure what the program was, the PC did it for me!! I'm relatively new to all this! Is it possible to convert to JPEG before you adjust the sharpness and brightness etc in Picture Project?? I always shoot in Raw.
Stormy girl great pics of your daughter. One point to keep in mind is to do all of your PP before FINALLY converting to JPEG for the web. It is very unwise to apply USM to a JPEG as you will be sharpening artefacts.

I like how its as if your not even there to your daughter and she is in her own world. Sometimes just being a fly on the wall gives the most visual impact with photography hey. As for all the PP and stuff dont worry that will all come in time, the most important thing IHMO is just taking the shots - as time waits only for the capture of it hey.
