POTW 2nd July 2013For this weeks POTW I had to go no further than the pic shown below. I know that it is doctored but it is the concept that interests me more. It reminds me of the type of photograph taken early last century (love saying that) that shows a tender moment that overrides all around it and in this my belief is that Remorhaz has created a moment in time.
Well done Chris

Re: POTW 2nd July 2013Nice choice, and i think you summed it up well, the concept itself is quite interesting. I prefer the unprocessed version and also the other version where they are kissing as voyeuristic as it may be..
Well done Rod. gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: POTW 2nd July 2013Congratulations Remorhaz, nice image. I also prefer the version with less processing but can see what appeals to Chris in this image. I actually think it feels as if it could be taken in the century before the last .

Nah - the short hair gives it away Chris

Re: POTW 2nd July 2013It is very romantic , but well chosen. Congratulations to the winner!
Re: POTW 2nd July 2013Congrats Rodney.
Re: POTW 2nd July 2013Thankyou all and thankyou Chris for the selection :)
Re: POTW 2nd July 2013Well done again Rodney. This is a different sort of photo from your normal style. This one paints a story. I don't think it's a great shot technically speaking, (at least not up to your ever ascending standard), but that doesn't matter. A technical masterpiece can be sterile too. A photograph tells a story. BTW, how's the XE-1 going? Still happy with it?
Ozi.

XE-1? - no fuji for me sorry Ozi[/quote] Ah, it's the D600. Sorry Rodney, a Srauidian Flip. Someone at last year's Christmas do had an XE-1? Maybe it was Matt?

:) - still very happy with the D600 - the body is not too large but is large enough to be comfortable in the hand (can fit my whole hand on the grip - but my hands aren't very large), the user interface and layout is what I like (am used to) and the image quality is exceptional so no complaints there. For my usual types of photography I like I think it's great - I'm travelling at the moment (family holiday in Bali) so will see how I like it in ten days time :) (lots of kit & extra weight but solid/tough/dependable/fast :))
