Bali: Ubud Village Streets...They say Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali, it's certainly a hive of activity. Each of the times we ventured into the centre of Ubud we found it absolutely jam packed with tourists and locals with stalls sprawling out into the streets.
One of the first things that strikes you about the streets in Bali is how absolutely packed they are with scooters - I believe there are as many scooters in Bali as people, and the streets are thick with scooters with anywhere from one to five people crammed on them weaving through and around the cars and pedestrians. To a westerners eyes it looks chaotic and very unsafe ... Riding here appears to be a pretty loose and crazy affair and I'm absolutely surprised there aren't more incidents (especially with how close all these vehicles (cars and scooters) drive to each other and the random directions they all appear to head in) - I guess the saving grace is that the traffic here moves pretty slowly (everywhere) because of the gridlock of people, bikes and cars at every intersection and choke point. Re: Bali: Ubud Village Streets...It seems you are having a good holiday.
I like number 1 and four best. In #1 you managed to catch a good expressions and the sense of movement. In number two you got the business of the street.
Re: Bali: Ubud Village Streets...Good overview of the street life. First image is wonderful...and I love the shots in the mirrors. Doing any night photography? I'm guessing that there would be some lovely subjects at night.

Just one small point; I notice that everyone has a helmet - good, except for the kids - bad Chris

Re: Bali: Ubud Village Streets...Love the first Rodney. This is Asia.
As for the crazy motorcyclists without helmets, try Thailand some time. It's insane, with entire families hurtling down the freeway at 80km+ on a motor scooter, with oftentimes no helmets. It's madness, and the road carnage there is unbelievable. I've been there numerous times but I've kept to taxis, not scooters! President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)
