Re: A photograph of Amelienice Matt, very cute, i can't help wondering about the colour version (as i find myself always doing)
gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: A photograph of Amelie
Agreed on the first part, but I can imagine that this is an image for which colour will not add anything. Of course, there is a slim chance I could be wrong, but we know that is unlikely. Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: A photograph of AmelieMy calculations indicate that cropping from the right and top would increase cutreness according to the inverse square law.
Re: A photograph of Amelie
ahh but, thou shalt increase the attention to the dead space on the bottom left, better to distract the viewer momentarily than bore them with concrete gerry's photography journey

Re: A photograph of AmelieI agree with Surenj. Crop unnecessary space and
place your subject on one of the two thirds to give the picture added interest. I don't believe colour will add; probably it will divert the attention if there is strong colours surrounding the main subject. You also caught a very pleasant expression. On the whole I think it is a very good candid portrait.
