POTW 13.08.2013This week we have an image that is very nicely put together of a subject that is often the most difficult to photograph. I am not talking about males, I speak of the dreaded selfie. Ozi has done this one justice, with the simple and natural looking light, which is often tricky to achieve with strobes, as this requires finesse, and attention to detail. Well done Ozi.
And here is the original thread http://dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?&f=18&t=43795&start=0
Re: POTW 13.08.2013Many thanks Suren, this is certainly the ugliest subject in the history of POTW!!
Re: POTW 13.08.2013Well picked Surenj and big congratulations Ozi. It looks like this is the pic you are using on your how to vote posters? Seriously the lighting came out very nicely and the just a hint of smile suits the pose. Uncrossing the hands would probably be more reflective of your warm nature. Very hard to do a good self portrait, well done.

Thanks Glen. Now, how many votes will I garner? Missus...nah, most probably not. Grandsons? Not old enough. Maybe my aunty from Bathurst? Nah, wrong electorate. I'm all out of political ideas...
Re: POTW 13.08.2013a spectacular portrait. the light is spot on and the relaxed confidence...dare I say cheekiness...just oozes out of the screen. fantastic stuff.
as a side note...how come it looks so sharp but all the photos I link lose like 25% of their sharpness via the linking ??
Re: POTW 13.08.2013nice choice Suren, well done Ozi!
gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

Good question Roozy. Up until recently all my photos on Flickr were rendered on the forum as soft as butter, but they seem to be sharper now. I'm not sure why, but maybe someone else can enlighten us.
Re: POTW 13.08.2013Yup, it's good alright.
Congrats to the model and the photographer who have both excelled here. Nice pick Suren TFF (Trevor)

If we put enough of these pics up on telegraph poles around the country you'd win the next election. It's really a lovely portrait and the lighting is exquisite. Regards

As Moe said to Curly (his minister of propaganda), "Vote 1, Hammond Egger" and "We want peace; a piece of this, and a piece of that!" I better stop now...
Re: POTW 13.08.2013Congratulations it is a very good portrait.
