Phoenix orchidI don't know what its real name is, but at our house we call it the phoenix orchid because it came back to life after I threw it in the garbage.
One day my wife told me to throw out "the flowers" as they were past their use-by date. Not realising that "flowers" did not include orchids, I ripped this one out of its pot and tossed it into the rubbish too. To justify my actions, there were no blooms at this time, only bare stalks. My wife had a pink fit when she discovered what I had done, as the orchid was a gift from a friend when my wife was in hospital. She promptly rescued the badly treated orchid and repotted it. I have to say that it really looked terminal at that point and I didn't think that it would be too long before I threw it out for good. A few months later we get two of these - click to see larger. I'll use this image to congratulate Her Indoors on her magical restorative powers - might get me out of the still lingering do-do. TFF (Trevor)
