Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I didn't have much intention of keeping the V1, but now I'm reconsidering. The whole system is a hoot. The auto focus is so good, it's spooky. Just point the thing in the general direction and it locks on, 10,30 or 60 fps! The colours are amazing too.

Bright colours yet decent skin tones.
Bit difficult to tell with these images but it looks like noise isn't much of an issue.

No reason not to keep it! :)

Ozi number 3 of Kezia is just great!

You now must own one of every system ever sold by HN (I remember you mentioning the Fuji), do you see them all as different tools for different jobs or do you prefer one system over another? Or do you just need your credit card banned from HN? J

Yep, another vote for #3. A beautifully natural portrait.

I like #3, however would consider loosing some of the LHS side of the image.

#4 is right up my alley. good pics, well done.

You're almost correct Glen! I DID own most of these, but they're mostly gone to others. I suppose my hobby is not only taking photos, but trying different cameras, then selling them for small profit. Just occasionally HN (or others) have deals that are ridiculously cheap. Leave the country for a few weeks, receive your GST back from the government, return and sell said item. Voila! Only problem is, sometimes you can get burnt. Oh well, that's life.

My current line up is Canon 60D/50L, Fuji XE-1 and now the V1. If I can pluck up the courage, I might ditch the DSLR and just run with the two smaller cameras. The V1 is such a great camera for photographing my two grandsons with it's instant focusing abilities, and it's now at a throw away price. The XE-1 is a superb all rounder. However, the EF 50L is THE lens of all lens, IMHO. Decisions, decisions.

The bottom line is I'm having fun with these optical machines, and it's a much cheaper enterprise than my other mechanical passion, being large motorcycles!
