POTW 1st October 2013

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW 1st October 2013

POTW for this time was a challenge, not because of a lack of images, or a lack of image quality, more from a connection point of view (for me), very little from the last week jumped out at me and made me hesitate before executing a left mouse button click on the tab 'x'. :)

However one image did cause me to pause from the previous week, given that its not a popularity contest, nor necessarily the best image contest but merely a image that strikes the viewer, thus i feel i can lean on the rules this week to pick a image from a previous week

Chris with his plethora of image taking equipment has really nailed this shot and what i really like is the fact that i don't think it would have mattered terribly much whether he use his DSLR or M4/3 or whatever, this image would have still been a cracker.

The little girl makes it, the timing makes it, the composition makes it, the infectious smile makes it, the BW conversion simplify's it and makes it :)

Great shot Chris, love you BW conversion on this one, brilliant moment captured, nothing left to say.

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
