When you're in love...

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Our youngest daughter is engaged to be wed (next March). She wants me to do a postcard type wedding invitation, with a small triptych as the feature, so out came the very versatile Fuji 35mm X series lens. Thankfully we have unlimited bush at the back of our yard for a nice backdrop. It's only a matter if waiting for the sun to go down, as I don't have a flash for the Fuji.

I agree they all look good and it is a wonderful setting. Did you get one of the last pose with the couple looking at each other?

Indeed they are happy Matt. Our youngest daughter is a treasure (as are all of our kids, of course). Her beau is a tremendous young man, respectful, considerate and kind.... and a mechanic, which always helps when you drive Fords.... :biglaugh:

Not sure Craig, there are more in the series that I haven't looked at yet.

compositions - spot on
poses - spot on
processing- hmm no like for me...(but i am not a fan of instagram styles)
gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

I find the first photo sharpness a bit confronting.
There is too much different between the two subjects
being one blurred and the other quite sharp.
However I like the second one best and I also like
the third one in black and white.

Thanks for the comment Gerry. I've never looked at Instagram, so I don't know what they're about. TBH, I'm not a huge fan of the washed out/bleached look either, but my daughter likes it, so I have to do what I'm told! :)

Very nice portraits. I would like to see a little more space on the RH side of the second image to balance with the space on the LH side adjacent to your daughters face.
