Re: Stormy days for QantasPhotographs of a windows on a rainy days always make interesting photographs, providing
the blurred background is recognisable as in this case. The title helps and also adds another meaning implying the financial, industrial and political upheavals this iconic company is going through. I like it! The other two are also good, but overshadowed by the first one.
Re: Stormy days for QantasI like the first image. Love wet windows. The second....that is the longest fuselage I have ever seen...and such a small tail fin!!!
Third image...not a winner in my book. The empty seat distracts the eye from the landscape, which should be the main element of the pic. (Photographs generally should have only 1 main point of interest). If the composition could have been altered to have the seat placed so that it lead the eye INTO the landscape them perhaps it would have fired up the image. Regards

Re: Stormy days for QantasLove the first - the only problem is it should be of that potato farmer, Joyce, or something like that

Re: Stormy days for QantasThanks for the comments.
I suppose one really has to get the whole Qantas thing in perspective. The days of free lunches are over, (written as a former employee of Australian Airlines (TN), a once truly great airline, unfortunately swallowed up by the QF behemoth). Airlines have perfected the art of losing money, and Qantas is doing really well at this. Virgin is also losing lots of money. I don't think Joyce has many friends inside or outside the airline; his days may well be numbered. It is particularly sad that James Strong is no longer with us. He was an exceptional CEO and well liked during his time at TN. He was one who maybe could have turned the ship into profitability? What next for Qantas? I suspect the airline will be mostly sold to overseas interests. Maintenance will be mostly carried out in Asia. Staff will be imported at cheap rates of pay. The business model will need to be changed to compete with the Singapore Airlines of the world. Interesting and stormy days await the flying kangaroo. Ozi.
