POTW 17th June 2014 - Selection by GeoffM aka Geoff

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW 17th June 2014 - Selection by GeoffM aka Geoff

This weeks POTW is brought to you by Geoff, thanks for taking the time to look and select, appreciated mate.

It is always a pleasure and a challenge (in a good way) for me to be able to select an image for POTW.

This week the number of image threads started was quite low (8) with a selection of 24 images being presented. I have gone back and forth reviewing the images on a number of occasions and I keep coming back to a thread which included four outstanding images IMHO and I struggle to choose between them. But as we can only have one winning image my choice is the wide mouthed Hippo in Marc's thread 'Green Season in Ruaha Nat Park' viewtopic.php?f=18&t=44409. Well done Marc, a great set of images which makes me very envious.

Good and obvious choice here Geoff. Great image of the fourth cousin to the wide mouthed frog, the hippo! Excellent.
