Stockton Dunes under the Stars...With Gerry and Suren at Stockton Sand Dunes - with Gerry's tree...
A lazy 200 second long exposure at f/5.6 with a touch of low light painting with Gerry's uber torch from the side and a kiss on the tree and we have... The Tree This final image is actually a composite of two shots - one 171 second long exposure shot at f/8 and ISO 100 - with Gerry on a burning steel wool spin behind the tree - combined with a 26 second shot wide open at f/4 and ISO 6400 to capture the stars in an almost clear sky (just a few whisps of clouds left) Galactic Fire D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks

Re: Stockton Dunes under the Stars...Wonderful images Rodney. I would have liked to have seen the second shot with the sparks falling from the sky....as if the stars were falling to Earth. That would have been cool. By the way, get your entry into the Australia Life competition. Need to do that before 18th of this month. It is now done electronically, so little trouble to take. You can use any image taken anywhere, (and, I think, taken anytime), as long as it is in landscape mode. I know you have some winners in your files.

Re: Stockton Dunes under the Stars...I really like the first one.
Re: Stockton Dunes under the Stars...Excellent Rodney. I do however think that Gerry the steel wool man is a tad superfluous for the second. The stars are enough entertainment on their own.
