Well, It arrived last week sadly I didn't have a chance to take a spectacular image for my first image (technically it was my camera bag) but I did get a chance to take some shots when I went to melbourne last weekend where my husband did a triathlon. Saturday we walked around the city for a short time before he decided he wanted to rest up for the big race early sunday morning, so I didn't get to explore as much as we had expected. However, we did explore the alley way near federation square filled with some spectacular graffiti. I found this place to be an amazing test for the camera. I managed to get the raw files into Lightroom and touched them up so they were pretty close to what they actually looked like. Anyways there are some images bellow taken as test images really, I was quite happy with them and I found the camera great to use, functional, relatively easy actually. I just have to get used to the EVF, a part from that I have no complaints yet for street photography and portraits. However, the triathlon was a different story. I really struggled there, got a nice ish shot of the hubby running towards the finish line but found the auto focus a bit slow to quickly follow him as he went past. But I didn't buy it for sport so I really don't care. As far as the PP went, I adjusted the colours from adobe to Velvia Vivid and adjusted the Highlights and Shadows a little and then slightly sharpened. (didn't need much for ISO 800 really). Anyways, won't babble on any longer but rather I'll post the images.

Thanks for looking

the lengths the artists go to amazes me, this kid climbed up tagged his name in the most awkward position possible, this was a shot as he was climbing getting his feet into position.

Well done Sarg, and congrats on the new camera. Which lens were you using?

I purchased it from teds and got the 18-55mm f2.8-4 lens as well. Its my birthday later this month so there has been quite a few hints that a new lens wouldn't go astray however, the camera and lens has run my account pretty dry! Very happy with the camera. Love it to be honest. I find the focus is spot on which is great, and also find the weight so much better for my hands and as a result not as much shaky hands. If only it fit in my camera bags better..... its so small and it just doesn't fit right in any of the 5 bags I have. Would be nice to get a bag that could be used as a handbag at the same time that didn't look like a camera bag!! I don't ask for much...... ok I'm a woman and i'll admit I do!! hahahah :biglaugh:

Well done Sarg. You need to buy my ONA bowery (leather) camera bag. It was sent to me last month from a friend in the USA and fits the XT1 with 3 lenses perfectly. However, I won't use it as it looks like a handbag!!

The 18-55 is a superb lens in every respect. I have also gone with the 35mm and 60mm lenses to complete my modest line up. Happy days.

I just googled the "ONA bowery", wow thats the exact sort of thing i've been searching the web for..... well you know if you don't want it you've got someone here who does!! hahaha. I am keen on the 56mm lens myself and the 35mm. I think If I got those for now I'd be happy. However the new weather zoom lens (equivalent to 70-200 on a 35mm camera) looks like a very nice lens!! It will be one to buy in the future. :)
