Coffs beautyWe are very blessed to have magnificent sub tropical water courses, bushland with 2 minutes walk from our unit. There are several spots around the Coffs area that are magnificent portrait spots, no matter what the time of year or day.
These were taken late this afternoon in dark conditions, hand held (obviously), ISO 5000 and F2 (eg wide open) with the X100s. Both are jpg. I am seriously considering purchasing the new Fuji 90mm F2 which seems to be, by all accounts, a superlative portrait lens for the X series bodies. This will give me the sought after facial compression lacking in the shorter focal lengths like the 35mm. Re: Coffs beautyExcellent portraits, good colour and composition. I think I prefer the first one for the simple reason it is the first.

Nice tech quality and great natural colours....but I think it is important to include the hands in a portrait. Without them then the image becomes more of a head shot but then this is just my personal opinion. Regards

Re: Coffs beauty
Mrs Oz had her hands very firmly on Mr Oz's credit cards, thus preventing him from purchasing the 90mm lens. But otherwise, what's been said. g.

Re: Coffs beauty
I concur Matt. Unfortunately we were perched on either side of a small walk bridge over the creek, and I was shooting with the X100s. If either one of us had backed up any further we would have dropped into the icy Coffs stream. OK, it's not that cold but you do get accustomed to warm water up here on the coast... Re: Coffs beauty
Indeed it is true, but the pressure to acquire a desperately needed piece of photographic equipment mounts every day. Pardon the pun. Funny thing is last night I was asked to do a half day environmental portrait shoot for a local politician, which may well help pay for the 90mm lens. You see, it is a need, not a want. Now if only I can find where she has hidden that black Amex... President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)
