A few more Fuji 90mm imagesKids are very hard to photograph. At least my grandsons are. The Fuji system has improved it's focusing attributes a lot with frequent firmware updates, but it's still not anywhere near the league of DLSR or M4/3 systems. I suppose I had about 30% keepers from this afternoon's venture.

Re: A few more Fuji 90mm imagesI have to say my kids are used to being in front of the camera so they tend not to move about too much. I have to say the 90mm is looking very nice. The DOF I like a lot. #3 is pick of the lot for me, but that could be because its such a candid photo, as a mum I love them of my kids!! Great effort!

Re: A few more Fuji 90mm imagesDo you find this still applies to the X-T1 with continuous focus after the recent firmware upgrade? I haven't got round to upgrading mine yet.
Re: A few more Fuji 90mm images
To be honest Murray, I'm finding the 90mm very slow to focus, even for a Fuji. Sometimes it takes ages to lock on, even with the current 4.0 firmware. However there may be reasons for this. The two shooting sessions I have done this week have been after work eg late afternoon with lowering skies, so I'm working with high ISO. Because there's no IS/VR on this lens, and because I'm photographing little kids, I've kept the shutter speed up at 1/250. I did try all three focus settings and it didn't seem to make much difference. I also tried with and without facial/eye recognition. (I usually shoot without it at F2 because even though it picks up the face, getting the eye in focus is another thing.) I will admit I haven't yet mastered the new firmware. The 90mm is a portrait lens. Most of the time a subject will be still, so there's no problem. The 90mm definitely won't be used for sports or animals. Maybe I should read up on the XT1 4.0 firmware and try and get some improvements out of the system? President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Re: A few more Fuji 90mm imagesGorgeous subjects!
My preferred order is: 3,4,5,1,2
Re: A few more Fuji 90mm imagesMaybe turn High Performance on under Power Management (I don't have that on myself - burns the batteries more).
Re: A few more Fuji 90mm imagesThe quality of the lens is evident. I'd love to see some work taken indoors by window light, shot from a tripod. This should reveal the lenses true character.
