I want a new lensWhen I was in Queensland I got to play with some lens. Now this lens I was impressed with, the shots are not great but wide and sharp.

Re: I want a new lensAnd you've certainly nailed that second shot.
I'd say buy the beach. Then you can make your own glass with all of the sand. g.

Re: I want a new lensI'll second that comment on the second shot. Excellent. It's worth thou-sands...

Re: I want a new lensI disagree, both pictures are very nice indeed. But, the second is best.
Re: I want a new lensCan a lens be too sharp? I would say yes for a portrait lens....but for landscapes? Comments?

Re: I want a new lens
Nope. Nope. Nope. The concept of "too sharp", in a lens, does not exist for me. We can always soften in post, but if you want that extra sharpness, say, a portrait of a person with a weathered face, then I don't want the glass to get in the way of that. g.

Re: I want a new lensI with Gary on this one.
I went and brought a 16-35 F4 a month ago because the 24-105 was soft in the corners. I would over come this by shooting wide and crop if I could.
Re: I want a new lensI don't think the problem is whether a lens is too sharp, but when an image is so sharp that defies normal vision and becomes unrealistic to the eye.
