A day at the cricketI sneaked the 100-400 into today's one day game at Blacktown. I couldn't find anywhere where it says that the lens was prohibited. (I know the major sporting grounds prohibit focal lengths above 200mm for non accredited photos.)
As I am still learning how to use the 7D/100-400 combo, I thought this would give me some practice at sports photography. Re: A day at the cricketExcellent action shots. I guess you had to use either a monopod or a tripod.
Re: A day at the cricket
Nah. All handheld. I don't think they'd let me in with a tripod/monopod. President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Re: A day at the cricketI got a version of that lens. I haven't used it for years but I used it on a tripod. It's quite heavy.
Re: A day at the cricket
Yep Mkii version is heavy too but not unmanageably so. Outstanding lens. President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)
