Blending

oOk who does it and how are you doing it.

Been interested in trying this for awhile and am getting closer to trying. Have been looking at a few different ways and havent really any clue but youtube will help.


Jimmy McIntyre vids on the tube are good and have thought about buying his Raya Pro for PShop.

Luminosity Masks are another way and Jimmy also has a free preset for this.

Then there is just create a mask and paint out or in what you want.

What would be a good exposure for the capture +-1 or +-2 and bracket 3 05 shots ahhh decision

So share with me your experience or start your jouney so i can follow

I blend. manually.

I have tried Jimmy's panels, its pretty neat and good for luminousity masks..

Bracketing your exposures is purely dependent on the scene, sometimes +2, 0 is fine, other times +3, 0, -3 is needed. Bracket to capture the dynamic range in the scene that you want.

I started with HDR programs, moved to manual blending then luminosity masks and now predominantly use manual blending..

depends what you want to do I suppose, PS subscription and the jimmy panel is pretty damn cheap.

heres a recent example, 5 shot pano with each shot bracketed 0, -3. This was processed in PS with two layers and manually blended, the manual blending was a simple as a mask and brushing it out with a soft opacity brush and a large feathering on the mask.

Yes i should do some practice with manual, need some pics. Manual would do all i want but i liked jimmys one click blend. Nice blend you have there. The longer i hold of buy the more i probly dont need it just wanted it lol, photo shop is intimidating and lr just doesnt quite do what i want.

Play around with this
In Photoshop paste an image on top of another so you have 2 layers. Go to Menu at top left LAYER-LAYER STYLE and then top menuitem BLENDING OPTIONS. down the bottom are 2 sliders for blending the layers. PLay with them, hold down ALT to sperate the sliders for fine control. Endless possibilities.
