The Solitary ViewBlue Mountains, NSW, Australia
I think I could visit these mountains every day and still not see all of the wonderful places this unique region has to offer. (C) 2017 Gerard Blacklock, all rights reserved by Gerard Blacklock, on Flickr gerry's photography journey
No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.
Re: The Solitary ViewHi Gerry
I agree I went there and saw bugger all of what is there. I had a nice lunch with Mr Darcy to which I owe him one. I like the shot, but for me, I think the rocks in the foreground are to prominent.
Re: The Solitary ViewVery nice Gerry and yes I agree with your sentiment. During my teen years I spent many a long weekend bush walking through the Blue Mountains. Perry's Lookdown, Govett's Leap, Neat's Glen, Narrowneck Peninsula, Burragorang, Carlon Head (now that was a scary descent). All magnificent areas. In fact, I was born at Springwood. (Actually Nepean District hospital, but we lived at Springwood).

I do Greg
It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: The Solitary View
Thanks Tony, I have a few combos at this spot, with and without the foreground rock, I think the rock provides some context to the descent here, but I agree, it does pull the attention away from the mountain. Narrowneck - Castlerock by Gerard Blacklock, on Flickr gerry's photography journey

Re: The Solitary ViewGerry
I would crop from the bottom just a little bit below the rock ledge on the right. Leaving the same amount of the light in the shadow.
Re: The Solitary ViewAnd yet, just to be different, I would crop just above the first rock making it square. I think the foreground rocks detracts from the landscape in this occasion.
