Re: Sunset on Cinque TerreLook likes the horizon is sloping to the right, but apart from that not to bad.
Re: Sunset on Cinque TerreI'd love to see something else here, perhaps a boat sailing in to the image?

Re: Sunset on Cinque TerreA different photo with a boat and the horizon straight...
Re: Sunset on Cinque TerreI prefer the first.
I like the refection of the sun and the patterns in the water, and I was not really concern that you stole Matt's style with the horizon.
Re: Sunset on Cinque TerreWhilst I'm not a fan of the image as it stands I am fascinated by the complex lines in the composition. The horizon, reflections and water trail divide the image space up into what is almost perfect, (for me), balance of tension. It may well be a classic example of the dominance of lines in the image space and I certainly would have used this image as a training aid in the teaching of lines as an element of composition.
There is always a reason why we press the shutter button. Regards

Re: Sunset on Cinque TerreThank you Matt. I personally prefer the first version but I agree with Tony that the horizon was not straight.
Tony, thank you for your comment. I had no realised the horizon was not totally straight; likewise I had not realised either that you could rotate the canvas by a fraction. In the original photo, the horizon was even more tilted so 3 CCW seemed alright but 4 CCW was overdone.
