Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. As I am unable to post in the film and non digital section, I thought the only other place to put this is here! I'm just really interested to see what you think of this one!
It was taken on a minolta 505si with Ilford FP4. Couldn't tell you what the shutter speed or apeture setting was (sorry!). And it had a bit of dust on it when it was scanned (the original looks much better) What do you think?? (hope you don't mind the non Nikon and non digital aspect  )
Stormygirl - glad you posted this beautiful shot. There is something beguiling about portraits of the young. With the young you are not dealing with the pretentions of us adults - thank god

Nice portrait, b&w is good for this image. Not your typical child's portrait.
Minor points lost on my scoring because of the crop across the top of the head, but apart from that - A1

Cricketfan, i really should have shot this in portrait not landscape, then I wouldn't have chopped her head off! But unfortunately I can't change that! Flyfisher, I had to keep the file size down to post elsewhere, and I didn't want to double up and waste valuable free web space!! Chris, She is a real poser, and loves having her photo taken! But there is nothing like the innocence of a child's eyes.
stormygirl - I LOVE this shot!
I agree that composing it with her whole head in frame might have been slightly better, but in this instance, for me, the eyes and the expression in them win out. They are just gorgeous and it really feels (to me) like you captured a moment. Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo.

She was playing outside with play doh, and the sun was behind her. She was so busy concerntrating on what she was doing, so I set the shot up and gently called her name, she looked up and SNAP! Easy as that! Thankyou Greg for adjusting my membership status! I have heaps of B&W of the kids on film that I can post there now! (Well, the better ones anyway!) Thankyou everyone again for your positive comments! Makes me feel I'm doing something right for a change!!!
StormyGirl, thats the best way I find, to get the shot when they are consumed by something.
Otherwise they look false, you can capture so much when they look so innocent with not a care in the world. Oh I wish I was that age again  but when you are that age you want to be older all the time 
I wonder who put that feeling in us, It's so unfair. Enough Babble, sorry. Mic.
