Adelaide meet 2

Postby dciscool on Sun Mar 20, 2005 10:07 pm

Adelaide meet - today was at monarto zoo - adelaide
What fantastic weather and company
I finally get to take my d70 out for a shoot out

The company was great
Im pretty new at this and I'd like to thank fozzie for his hospitality and the
for the little screen protector.
Thanks rob for lending me the 70-200vr - what an amazing lens
Unfortunately the bus ride meant we had to stay on the bus - and try and shoot thru the gaps in the windows, or the dusty glass
Everyone was in awe of robs bazooka

I hope these pics work btw these are the first pics i have posted to the forum
the 1st pic is with my standard kit lens
the 2nd with Rob's 70-200VR

If you know you are going to have to shoot through a window...then take some window cleaner.

Matt, these are old ex Adelaide STA busses and the windows are scratched and so on and was a bit dusty so the windows cleaner may have not made a lot of differance. Oh well was fun anyhow.

matt, uhmm maybe that bit of dirty glass is better to have that between us and the lions and lepards im afraid, but just to open the window about 4 or so inches would be ok i would think to get clear shot but well thems the brakes.

Monarto..

Postby beetleboy on Fri Mar 25, 2005 2:16 pm

Hey guys,

Sorry i couldn't attend, I only arrived back from Africa on Wednesday night.

I have been to Monarto though and probably would not have attended this meet as I found Monarto to be a waste of time and money. Crappy old buses driving around a dusty park miles from the animals does not appeal to me. In Africa you can drive your own car and get much closer to WILD animals, it's exhilirating! I'll be sharing some pics soonish (I have thousands to edit and about 400 NEF's that I'm going to try and sell).
