Panorama: Morning MistAt last I've done a pano shot I'm proud of (but don't let that stop you from telling me it's crap). Click image for larger version.
Stitched using Panorama Factory. Enhanced in PS CS using Nik Color Efex Pro Sunshine filter. Stitched from 10 images shot hand held with 70-200 VR in portrait mode. Peter

Two thumbs way up there for that one!
Where was that taken from? New page

The shot was taken just off the road on the way into Jenolan Caves. Alistair I'm about to have a go at printing it on A4 - oh for an A3 printer! As a comparison here's the same shot after stitching but before I PP'd it: Peter

Stubbsy - The pano is a indeed a nice one, but your "Govatt's Leap" picture is the one that knocks me out. Love that one. Great shot.
Memo to self: Take trip to Oz. Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.
Peter - fabulous pano but I actually prefer the un-PP’ed shot as there is a lot more definition on the left hand side in the mist IMO

stubbsy,
Keep the original one, the PPed is little bit of washed out with my taste. The original is the keeper. Birddog114

I agree with the two previous posters
I reckon a bit of a curves adjustment to boost the contrast a bit would make this 'unPP'd' pics look fantastic. But it's nice to be able to experient a bit with filters. Steve.

Interesting you both prefer the original. I thought the original might be a little dull. I'm going to print out both and see how they look. Peter

Steve Thanks. This part of the country is breathtaking - and it's only about 2 hours drive from Sydney. Peter

I agree that the clouds in the first post are a bit washed out, yet the hills are a bit in shadow in the second. You might want to try doing a bit of a merged composition to get both definition in the clouds while retaining the detail in the hills.

Stubbsy, I'll organize a workshop there after Easter and with only limited number of member, say 5 or 6 so we can do more on the sunny winter day, I love there very much, and it was my intention same as pluckaduck long while ago. Birddog114

Great shot Stubbsy,
Only thing is, if you hadn't told us it was a panorama, I would have thought it was taken with a regular wide angle lens. If I had to pick between the two I would go for the original but probably somewhere in between the two would be my choice. Either way though it is still a really good image. __________

That's the problem with pano shots n web pages. You can really only tell the difference when you see them large since they are significantly bigger pixel sizes. This one was 7200 x 3147. Peter
