You need to grab either a Kenko or Tamron for this lens. Vanbar is your friend, and around PP200 will see one in your inventory. g.

The 80-400 is maximum at f.4, using a TC on it is not worth it, insrease f stop you need to have few stadium floodlight lighting up the subject for you to focus. Birddog114

The Kenko 300 Pro, 1.4x will work on the 80-400, retaining both AF and VR. It will degrade AF, especially in lower light conditions. If used in good lighting, it's not too bad, just a little less reliable than normal. It's best used on a monopod.

Yep top lens and Kerry has a lot nice pics taken with one as well, i guess we all look for that bit closer, sometimes. More reach means more money, maybe the bigma 50-500 who knows. well 6am time for work.
