So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Simple studio pix's
Sample of simple shot that was lit with only 2 lights [electronic flash]. Original work shot on 5x4 tranny. Bottle pix took around 7-8 hours yes it was a bit hard getting the water droplets where they were wanted. The bottle was sprayed with print fix, but I believe a quality hair spray gives similar results, then a fine spray with warm water and light oil, larger drops where placed one at a time.
Soft-box on background and hard side light through a large sheet of de-fuser to soften the hard light but still gives a bit of contrast. Film stock pushed in processing 1/3 of a stop to also add a bit more contrast and warmth to final tranny, and a fill card on the left. Filter was a polariser. Also small gold reflector behind bottle for glow Cheers ....bp....

not a bad shot... but i find the edge softness at the bottom of the bottle very distracting... but that is just me being pedantic..

No excuse for a bad scan but it happens the original pix is very sharp, better than what I have posted, sorry about that.
The preparation of what looks like a simple studio Shoot for an Advertising Agency comes in many ways, and a lot of what you do depends on your relationship with the people that you are working with as they can make a very simple shoot a nightmare or very easy then lunch. The bottle pix was briefed at 7:30pm and finished 5x4 Transparencys were supplied to the agency at 9:30am the next morning. Cheers ....bp....

agencys are apain in the butt. you heve to mould them around your ways whatever it takes PS work is a great selling point. suck em in and tell them you can do anything. most of them are rank amateurs. good shot though

yes I agree ....... but a fantastic way to make money.......in advertising world you either sink or swim....... but is is a young man or woman game today as Ad Agencys are looking for an edge or something new.

very true big pix im past the young metro male shit but doesn't stop me from fibbing to them about anything they like to hear to make a buck and when it comes down to it for some strange reason they listen. must be gullible or ignorant or simply stupid. the new gen im not sure about and after 25 years in the print industry im pissed about their attitude quite frankly, skills are gone no one cares very sad. maybe this is today! NO MORALS NO VALUES! SAD!

I dealt with an agency in shooting wines, spirits and beers for 1st Estate - that was until Woolworths approached me directly. I now deal with them and supply the agency what I have taken and they have to accept them without argument

You take the new challenge and see where it leads. The members of this forum do some of the best photographic work That I have seen. You might not have commercial studio experience but what I have seen is some of the best location photography available today. So do not sell your self short as this forum is more professional than what all the members give them self's credit for. Just fantastic work from every one Big Pix Cheers ....bp....
