We could make a cardboard cut-out shell of a D2x and mount it over the D70 for her!
Better yet, we could take the cardboard cut-out version of the D2x to a Westfield!
Leigh,
When can I have this prototype?

Just cut out the D2X ad in the photographic magazine, then connect it to your op-tech camera strap. Once this is done hang it around your neck

Ive already emailed my nomination direct to Birddog for Saturday

From the numbers so far it looks like it may truely be a mini-or macro meet.

I'll be there Saturday. There's 'something' i need to pick up anyway.
As i have no family in Sydney (or NSW) i will feel the need to be with my 'psuedo-family' instead otherwise i will feel lonely.

Chryssine will bring me on Saturday if I promise to be well behaved and write a report for Onyx. (Sorry about the last one... have been a little off-colour health-wise)
Possibly No. 1 Grandson as well

            Regards

Get well soon Joe. Wishing you a quick and painless recovery.

Plus since Stubbsy is out of petrol money, someone's gunna have to fill in as unofficial member's mugshot photographer in his absence.

I think we're going to be there on Saturday. Dad's already informed me that we're not going tomorrow morning.

I'm sitting here playing games I got from EB. One is going back (it's terrible... it's honestly one of the most boring games I've played... ever ... great 3d engine though...) and the other is one I'll probably take back because it's far, far, far too complex for me.
But Birdy will probably understand it. 'Tis called Lock On: Modern Air Combat... and CHRIST... the sounds and cockpit designs are beautiful... geeze... if I could figure out this game, there could be some (more) fun at the Sunday meets.
I just need to get it running on a D70.
Wait.. hold on... the minimum requirements call for at least a D2X with at least 1.1gb of space.

            Leigh,
Soon all the 3D game can be play on the DSLR camera as new Dxxx or current D2x with new firmware u/g, This helps the boring photogs kill their times while they're waiting to shoot.    BTW, I have new toy call TVIX:
 http://www.tvix.co.kr/eng
You can install 400GB hdd in it and download, copy, transfer ton of movies, music, MP3, photos into it and play on your stereo, in car, out door or also acting as your storage device.
You'll see it tomorrow at Mr Birddog's Toy Store. Life's alway with new toys, will help you to enjoy the best part of living

Thanks for your congrats, but I actually have three grandsons ranging in age from 3, 5 and 18
It's the big one that has expressed an interest

Mini meet Saturday 26/3...Report for Onyx.

I know, I know, it's really late
Roll call : gstark, nnnnsic, killakoala, mattk, huyhnie, gleff, jenno, rick
Special guest appearance : fozzie but he was upstaged by Birddog's D2x and, to a lesser extent, the TVIX
Later my No. 1 grandson Brenton and his mate were dropped off by his father (my No. 2 son if you like keeping score, Onyx). Their reaction - very cool - yes they come from Raymond Terrace and some of the Sydney teen idiom hasn't got that far North
Usual comparisons, fozzie doing some shopping and Birddog being a great host as usual.
Bet you didn't have as much fun on the mainland as we did at Belmore

            Regards

 Joe

            Joe,

Two thing you left out, was the seed he planted to buy other glass, surprise, surprise ie AF 200mm f/4 D IF-ED, AF-S 300mm f/4 D IF-ED and AF 85mm f/1.4 D IF. Light Macro equipment 'Gitzo' G1027 plus 'RRS' BH-25 Pro.  BTW: I had a superb time while in Sydney, thank you to everyone .
