I was referring to the support feature of tripods. Usually I lean on my other half when I don't have my tripod with me! Just to clarify there... Nicole

I have the D70USERS Banner for Melbourne Chapter, Can I send it to mudder or Greg or Nicole?

G'day,
Don't want to be a piker, but Greg's probably more reliable than me, I'm subject to mr.customer calling and me having to drop everything at a moment's notice... Hence why I'm working tonight and Good Friday night... Keeping my finger's crossed for now... Aka Andrew
0900 on Sunday morning the 17th is fine with me. Hate to be difficult, but can we meet a little closer to the City than the Botanic Gardens? I will have to get the Bundoora tram into the City, which runs down Bourke St.

Sorry been away hence no response. The botanic gardens is just outside the city centre. You could catch a tram along Swanston St & St Kilda Rd and get off outside the Victoria Barracks. the walk from there is not too far. I'm sure not everyone is going to be there at 9am and from there we'll probably head back toward the city.

Hi,
I'd like to come along too. Can someone summarise the current status of where and when the meeting takes place? My understanding is 17th of April at the Observatory Cafe (the one near the Shrine right?) at 9am. Have I got this right? Cheers, Bruce
Bruce, that is the arrangement. We will make a confirming closer to the day when the weather forecast is available. Should be fun!

Good stuff Nikon Boy.
Just a reminder to other Melbourne members that Birddog has given me a supply of the ProLoop straps bearing the prestigious D70Users logo. The straps are by OpTech, they are very comfortable and have convenient quick release clips if you want to remove the strap when it is on the tripod for example. The loops where the strap attaches to the camera are not rigid allowing the camera to hang more comfortably. $30 for members, very good value. If anyone coming to the meet wants one, let me know and I can bring them along Greg - - - - D200 etc

I am 99.9% sure I will be able to make the meet. The 0.1% being if I am sick or Husband has to work!
Will be great to meet you all and have an opportunity to take pics....it's rare in my house!
I'm interested in coming if there's still room.
I imagine we are going to look like a bunch of paparazzi , waiting for a big scoop on a celebrity with all that gear. Anyone mind if I bring along a friend who is a canon shooter? It's ok - he's thinking of switching to the dark side and will probably spend half the day shooting a Nikon film body anyway, so there won't be a colour clash. Joolz
