Bikini competition - WARNING PG Rated and fairly big images

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Better colours & less harsh flash make them nice.

Spooky great work with the SB800 straight out of the box. 2&4 seem to have the most pop for me, but then I would like 2 just for the subject matter :wink: Well done, I am envious.

Watch out for the shadows as your models are too near the background and also the distracting background (people, other photographers etc..). The 5th picture is over exposed. You can dial the flash down by 1/3 to 2/3 to prevent overexposure and burning out highlights. As you are the official photographer, you can choose the best spot where the overhead light is best and most plain simple background available.

Brett - lovely shots but my favourite has to be the last one. A little bit of PP cloning on the highlights would make this a framing pic :wink:

The group shot looks soft to me. Nice "exposure" though.... 8)

nice shots.... and i know you couldn't control backgrounds etc... so well done. I'd watch the exposure a little, and consider cloning out the birthmark in the first shot...

In PP I went through the images on my pc and adjusted levels where necessary. It looked pretty good I thought.

I jsut took the disc to my wifes computer and eeeek. All the images look considerably brighter and more exposed on her monitor.

Maybe I need to calibrate my monitor or something. There is a big difference between the appearance of the images between the two monitors.

Do they look a big "bright" or overexposed on your monitors?

Can anyone point me towards good info on calibrating my monitor so I can get a good exposure level in PP?

There appears to be a disportionate amount of a certain gender in the audience. They seem quite keen on something...and salivary glands seem to be working well, quite illogical (gets out his spock ears).

FWIW, your pics look pretty good on my monitor, even for brightness... :shock:

Perhaps it's the other monitor that is too bright.

Here's a quick and dirty way to get your monitor close to calibrated for web stuff.
