3 wise monkeys with a twist. This was going to be another entry for the three comp.... but rules state no more than two members can recognise who you are....
This might be a bit too over the top for some people... but hey... i like it It's amazing how difficult it is to take self portraits... takes a lot more time working out lighting/shadows/fstops etc etc... Here's some more playing in the studio, this time with boot polish involved. I have been in a bit of a dark mood this evening and thought i would reflect this. I hope you enjoy. Picture looks a little soft... but that's just the jpg conversion from a very large file. Comments/critique/criticism appreciated and expected. cheers Last edited by xerubus on Sat Apr 02, 2005 11:12 pm, edited 1 time in total.

---snip--- sure... in studio as per post in another thread... lights exactly the same. boot polish on face .... and i've just noticed not enough on my arms/hands.. they look quite white orange gel on barndoor on 300w strobe with honeycomb.... all shot raw on D70 with 50mm f1.8 ---snip--- cheers http://www.markcrossphotography.com - A camera, glass, and some light.

sorry... should be up now... http://www.markcrossphotography.com - A camera, glass, and some light.
Mark - you've never looked so good!
Interesting concept and I like the shots. How long did it take to get the boot polish off? (Did you use orange peel? That usually works a treat.) Are triptychs allowed in the comp though?? Simon

my wife hates it.... says i look bruised and battered... which is good.. that's the look i wanted. boot polish came off easily.... http://www.markcrossphotography.com - A camera, glass, and some light.
Wives only enjoy the bruised and battered look if they're the ones who dished it out!
Enjoy your "Day at the Races". Simon

I have edited the shot so that the center frame is mirrored... in the original the first and second frame were looking the same way.

great shots.......maybe just a back light on the head to lift it out of the black hole, about 1/4 strength, so you can just see the hair line......
