Back from my trip and just thought I would post this tempter shot with the kit lens at 70mm. The croc was about 14 feet long and had just dragged a fully grown steer into the river. He had it by the throat and was not about to let go. I was close enough to lean over and pat him on the head, and boy was I tempted.

Welcome Back oneput, hope you had a good time and that is a great looking shot mate, just as well he has something in his gob otherwise i wouldn't like to be too close to him.

Birdie - they don't like you taking shots at their crocs up there  However the lens is not too far away. :D

Welcome home Oneputt and thanks for this fantastic shot! Dragging off an entire steer to munch on - sounds like Sunday arvo's at the Brekky Creek!

Looking forward to more shots.
