Bloody hot and Hard work

Hi All, Well what a day and i am stuffed, 32 degree's at the race track and i have spent all day walking around it in the hot sun doing photo's. I just hope my efforts pay off in time and well this morning wasn't too bad but soon heated up and sun 1 min cloudy the next plays havoc at times.

Well i hope everyone eles is having a good time as i been a bit busy last couple of days as i have to spend many hours processing, it's hard when you take like 300 a day so many bikes so little storage.LOL Oh well instead of sitting here files to transfer/process and upload to new site at

All that hard work and no replies. Yet again you have some very impressive panning images in that bunch. I particularly like the contrasting feeling in image 52

Thanks and yes it was hard work running aroound a track all day with a 80-400 VR hanging of your neck all day, oh well things we do.
Least i can kick back now and relax and just deal with orders as they come in, as had to do some today and send off so yeh pays for my day.

As usual, your shots are tack sharp, well-composed and really idicative of the speeds these guys are travelling. I really admire what must be by now a very well practiced technique. At the moment, my best panning work involves a skillet that lives under the stove...!

HAHAHA Simon, well i have found out it is easier not to use the monopod, but thats ok as for the 80-400VR isnt to bad to carry around all day. Something like a 300mm f/2.8 lens would need the pod as yeh a bit bigger to carry but i dont have 1 of them but i have been looking at them i see a couple in the Photographic trader 1 in Adelaide hills, not if only i could convince she who must be obeyed lol. I just need a faster focussing lens thats all, and that is in the workings.

But it is something you do get used to when you take 300 shots a day panning near all of them.

John, I've thought about podding up but I think I'll just save the dosh for an 80-400VR. A MUCH better investment methinks. Do you use teleconverters?

You've got the panning down pat! These are terrific racing shots, really sharp and the blurred wheels and backgrounds give a real sensation of speed... Good stuff, I can see why they sell...
