Great shots. Great example of where keeping the camera hand pays off.

What lens did you have on it?

Do you think you can sell those shots?

Well done Matt

That's what you might call a "bad keel day" :D

perhaps a "lost keel day" might be better

I do feel sorry for the owners, crew and the skipper though. Hopefully, the boat is insured.

Cheers

I was at work today. Sometimes my job sees me walking around the city with a D70. Sheer bliss!
The shots were taken with the kit lens and a 300mm manual focus lens.
Probably could'nt sell them because the media were all over it. One TV station ran some stills from a "amateur" who probably didn't get a nickle for them. They didn't even have the curtesy to give him credits and name him.

It is excellent. I have filled it twice. Your advice was sound! As always!

Matt, you are the d70Users "Man on the Spot", great photos (as are the non-yacht images, QVB, Hotel Mecure and Red Car in particular, great)

Matt - did you try to capitalise on this good luck timing?! I believe SMH uses Getty Images photo agency for some of their pics. Might be worthwhile approaching them and saying you've got newsworthy shots (and you do!) PS. you got nice QVB images too.
