Nearly the worst possible scenario - looking practically into the sun, but I like the feel of these two:

I think they're great Sheepie. Without the sun in that position, you wouldn't have been able to achieve that "chinese lantern' look through the sail of the catamaran not nab that sharp silhouette of the jet-skier.

Rules are meant to be broken!. These two excellent shots are the proof. For me, I'd have used a tighter crop on the second one.

Yes, they work. On the second shot, do you any more image in front of the jet skier? i.e, to the rh side of the image? If you did, it might make a better image to crop to that side, making it look as though they're moving "into' the image, rather than "out of" the image, as is currently the case. g.

I like them both but my only thought would be to increase the saturation in the first pic’s sail area just to give it some more lift
