Want to put a face to the forum member name. Then look no further.

Onyx is the unofficial forum photographer, but while he's away in HK I've temporarily taken over that role. Between the two of us we are mirroring the DSLRusers.com forum member mugshots. You can find them at either of the following locations:

http://www.pixspot.com/thumbnails.php?album=39

http://stubbsy.smugmug.com/gallery/434985

If you want your image removed - no problem PM me or Onyx and we'll take it down straight away.

Thanks Stubbsy for keeping the forum recognition thing alive. Hello to all the new people at these recent meets - you would have no idea who I am, but I look forward to meeting you guys one day! :)

And to Manta from another thread elsewhere - sorry, yes you did send me your image for the forum members' gallery, but Pixspot had crashed after that and I had unfortunately not kept a copy of your picture on my computer. Same case also with Raydar (whatever happened to Raydar from Lismore?)

With your permission Stubbsy, I'd like to add your shots to the unofficial Pixspot forum member's gallery. Thanks once again for filling in during my absence. ;)

And thanks to others who've contributed pics and also those who've offerred.

Updated the description at the top of the thread to advise that Onyx and I will be mirroring the pics at pixspot and smugmug and removed my question about the "unknown" member's pic which turned out to be Rick aka Woody's dad.

The smugmug gallery has all photos we have. Onyx will soon update pixspot to include my recent shots (when Mr Poon gives him enough free time!)

If you're not in the gallery and want your pic there, just PM Onyx or me.

For members interstate, send us pics from your next meet to add to the gallery.

Cheers
Peter

There are, but you know hard it is for a woman to allow you to keep a shot of them (although I know some men who are just as picky - starting with me who doesn't like my forum mug shot, but hey it's just a photo)

Digitor has a picture of himself, me, Mark T and Fozzie from our last meet. It is on the Adelaide meet review page. That would make 2 female pictures. But, you are right - looking at the close ups of some pictures there is no way you could keep pics of me like that (nor would you probably want to!!)

Yeah I'm pretty anal with things like that - Took a bit of doing since the filenames weren't in alpha order. I did the captions alpha and told smugmug to sort by caption. I'm glad you noticed.

My apologies - the filename was right, but the caption wrong. Now fixed. And that's not being anal - that's being factual

Here's me. With almost 800 posts it might be nice to put a face to the wackiness. As a rule I don't shave when not at work. This is one of the only pictures I have of myself (tend to be behind the camera more) recently. Feel free to do with it as you will, I know it isn't from a meet or anything, but I enjoyed purusing through those mugshots, which inspired me to post my own.

My believe is that any forum member should have his portrait posted in the members section if he/she so wishes. It would appear that this only happens if you go to a mini meet :?:

Chris, it seems the only chance forum members have of getting their images up in the gallery is if they attended a meet and was shot by another forum member. Although members have always been encourage to send in their pics, few have obliged. BTW pippin88 - you added 10 years with that beard. ;) Here's the young 'un, taken January(?)

Christ, Stubbsy showed me the second photo on the LCD, and it didn't look nearly as bad.

I've trimmed the beard a bit now, so I don't have the full Abe Lincoln look. I seem to attend meets at extremes - either shaven or overly bearded. Time for a hair cut now me thinks.

Nick - I have had a beard for years and when I remove it I feel naked and quickly grow it back. It’s a bit like smoking - don’t do it :D

Nick

I can take a new shot next meet we both attend if you like (or when you pick up the Spyder I guess)

On the topic of beards - I'm like Chris. Apart from 1 year when I foolishly shaved mine off I've had one for almost 30 years (since I was about Nick's age). The year I shaved it off I persisted, but never again. Shaving in the morning cuts too much into my sleep time
